TCA fundraising has started.  If you are interested in an Entertainment or Gold C book, please let us know.  Hayden really wants to sell a bunch, but his mom is dreading it.   So, please, please, please if you want one, could you please let Hayden or I know.

    Note From School:

Remember the Gold C book (the little one) is $10 and the Entertainment book (the big one) is $25.

Your child is eligible to earn any of the prizes from the Entertainment company as spelled out in the brochure in the packets…in addition to that he or she can win a monkey doll for their backpack as soon as they sell 5 Entertainment books…your classroom manager will make sure they get the monkey.  Lastly, any child who sells at least 1 Entertainment book or 2 Gold C books will get their name entered in a drawing to win one of four gift cards.

I admit that I often times forget to rejoice in the good times (I am getting better).

I often find myself fearing what could be lurking around the corner at the very time I am realizing my current blessings. It is so liberating when you realize God’s sovereignty over all things.

Tonight as Kip and I were talking, this subject came up and he shared this article with me.  It is worth sharing.

I must share the blessings we have received this week. I am so incredibly comforted by God’s provision and love for His children. As I have written before it does my heart so good to see all of the ways that God works in our lives and the lives of others on a daily basis.

Kip and I had accepted the fact that we were not going to have a carpool this year. We had made arrangements that between the two of us, we would be making three runs a day. However, we had continued to pray and had asked others to pray for us that either someone would be willing to carpool or that we could be content with our sacrifice and commitment to do this as a team.

Yesterday at the pool, I received a call from Kip that our prayers had been answered. That somehow, some way, God worked it out so we connected with another family in our sub-division. We now have a carpool with two other families with a similar situation to ours. PTL ! God is so good.

The other blessings are that H got the teacher I was really hoping for. I know that all of the teachers would have been great and I was prepared for anything. Our schedules are all falling into place and I am really looking forward to volunteering in the kids classes this year.

I have to also include that our swim lessons outcome turned out in our favor as well. With all of the last minute changes, I had feared we would not have a good swim season this year. However, just the opposite happened and again fell into place fairly easily. My parents were so generous to quickly open their pool for us, it was so nice for the kids to be able to have lessons at Nanna and Pappa’s house. We were also blessed to have a friend give them private lessons. Like I said, we have been truly blessed.

Why YES!!! There is still such thing as “The Ice Cream Man”.

The kiddies were surprised to find out that Mom and Dad had experienced the sheer joy that comes from having a silly little van drive up your street while playing some creepy little tune, that stops to sell little kids ice cream!

This only happens on Willy Wonka or some pretend land! ha ha!

Seriously though, doesn’t it go against all that we are trying to teach our kids? “Don’t talk to strangers” (unless they are driving a creepy little van with ice cream in it!).

I just love Target’s end of the season sale. Every so often I find a matching pair of shoes for Gillian and I. Of course I just get the kid size 5 shoe and G the shoe size that she will be in the following year. This is the pair we got this year! A little flashy for me, but G LOVES them!

Today is a very special day for Kip and I. Fifteen years ago today, we went before God and committed ourselves to each other. It is hard for us to believe that it was really 15 years ago. Time does fly when you are having fun.

What a precious and delicate thing; Marriage.

We have surely had our difficult times (who doesn’t) but we are truly blessed. I pray that our Father in Heaven will continue to bless our marriage and family.

The thought of one person knowing me so well; it is so daunting and yet so very cool. I look forward to 50 more years of marriage with my wonderful husband.

I have to tell you, I remember my parents 15th wedding anniversary. I loved making their day so special for them. What an honor it was to be able to celebrate the love & commitment of two people. It is such an honor for me to have my own family and to be able to celebrate in the same way a love and commitment that is so rare in today’s world.

Thank you for blessing my life KAR, I love you so very much!

Friday night (our last free night in Salt Lake) our group of 12 walked to the mall for dinner and a movie.

I could not have imagined a better night out with girlfriends. We were all so tired, but we had the greatest time and this was one of the many highlights of our trip.

Our small group, a sisterhood of stampers if you will, were joined by many of the other 6000 demonstrators attending the convention to see Mama Mia.

If you have not seen it, I highly recommend you go see it with your friends. It was such a fun movie to see with a theater full of women. You will laugh, cry and sing….and continue to sing as you leave. Mama Mia features many of ABBA’s great songs and the story is very sweet and funny.

I cannot wait to see it again, although I know it will not be the same with out my friends.

    I give this movie * * * * * .
